About Jan’s Dance Studio
Jan’s Dance Studio Inc. is located in Chatham, IL – just minutes from Springfield. We offer dance education beginning at 18 months old to seniors in high school. Styles include ballet, jazz, tumbling, hip-hop, tap, lyrical, and pointe. This is our 40th season of teaching the art of dance.
Our instructors are certified through Chicago National Association of Dance Masters (CNADM), Southern Association of Dance Masters (SADM) and Acrobatic Arts. On staff, we have a university dance professor, former Broadway dancer, former professional company dancer, four classroom teachers, a former University of Illinois Illiniette captain and several bachelor of fine arts graduates.
JDS has been in business since 1985 and in that time we have developed a comprehensive dance program that has produced numerous dancers who have gone on to dance professionally on cruise ships, at Disney parks, on Broadway and in dance companies.
We believe that dance training and performance build self-confidence, teach discipline and encourage creative thinking. We are dedicated to giving each student the best fine arts education possible. We feel blessed to have devoted our lives to teaching our future!
Our dance instructors are members of Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, as well as Southern Association of Dance Masters, or have benefited from continuing education at CNADM or SADM workshops.
